Trick or Treattt

Floral Engraved Leather Boots, Alexander McQueen (£2,295)

Happy Halloweeeeennn! It's halloween tonight so I thought this pair of Floral Engraved Leather Boots by McQueen would be perfect. The combined black leather and suede, buckles and bronze heel create a dominatrix effect ideal for jazzing up any black witchy outfit.

Thigh High

Latino High Boots, Bertie (£135)
James Flat Suede Boots, Sam Edelman (£196)
Over-the-knee Suede Boots, Fendi (£920)

It is the third winter in a row that these Bertie thigh-highs have been in their collection- surely that has to say something for an investment piece? They are an edgier, sexier version of the knee high. Perfect for elongating the leg, keeping warm in winter, as well as looking great with jeans, dresses, shorts etc- whether you have a thousand pounds to spend or a hundred, this is one piece to look into for seasons to come.

Bugsy Malone

Burwood Metallic Brogues, Church's at (£235)
Leather Lace-up Brogue, New Look (£34.99)

The last pair of brogues... for now! As I've shown, brogues are in the shops in abundance at the moment and I love them! If the mono-tone colours are a little ordinary for you why not try these? The classic shape has been modernised with Bugsy-Malone-esque two-tone colourings. And whether you have endless dollar or not, I have found a pair to suit both budgets!

Hedgehog Sole

Leather Wedge Boots, Camilla Skovgaard at (£360)
Donilon Wedge Ankle Boot, Aldo (£80)

Danish shoe designer, Camilla Skovgaard has created this unique and stylish, yet practical boot. I LOVE her shoe boots. A little bit like a hedgehog, her signature spikes on the sole are part of the main attraction. Whats more, the heel is a wedge (great for height and comfort), the sole is rubber (great for grip on an autumnal / wintery day) and the boots are made of leather (great for the rain and for moulding perfectly to one's foot!). It appears there are far too many plus points to avoid a purchase... ah, yes, minus the price. I have therefore carefully picked a pair that although don't quite compare, will have to suffice for now....

Casual Chic

Velvet Plimsolls with Suede Toe Cap, Boden (£39)

If your feet want a rest from killer heels but you still want to be on-trend, why not try out these plimsolls? Although I never shop at Boden (I feel something very much for the over 35s demographic), this season's collection has surprised me. Velvet has been one of the key materials on the catwalks this season and combined with plimsolls they are sure to get you through the autumnal days...

Also available in a burgundy and an olive green

Marbled Velvet

Photo taken outside the Grand Palais, Paris, Tuesday 5th October

The one down side of capturing a bit of street style is that I unfortunately didn't ask where these belles were from, and having searched high and wide, I can't find them either, but I am in love. I am a huge fan of the brogue this season, and this marbled velvet effect is original and unique - and something yet to be produced en masse by every high street retailer (always a bonus!). Can someone tell me where they are from, pleaseeeee????

YSL Dream

Palais Suede Platform Pumps, Yves Saint Laurent at (£490)
Palais Mohawk Suede Pumps, Yves Saint Laurent at (£640)

Let me introduce to you the YSL Palais Pumps....

The vibrance of the cobalt blue or the 'mohawk' on the back of the black pumps, combined with the heel of nearly 6 inches, makes it is clear how they were runners up in Grazia's "Sexiest Shoe Award". This modern twist on a classic shape creates an edge to high fashion. The blue could be worn with a black dress and black opaque tights creating the perfect on-trend 'colour blocking' outfit; whilst the black could be worn with the simplest of outfits and still creating a show - stopping look. was amazing to meet you, if only you could stay in my wardrobe forever!

Brogue Beauties

Kamille Soft Leather Brogues, Topshop (£50)
Studded Leather Brogue, Belle by Sigerson Morrison at (£220)
Brett Brogues, Bertie, (£42 on sale from £70)
Marky Brogue, (£30)

Women are dominating men's footwear this season- we have seen the loafers in full swing and another classic shape are the brogue. They've been sung about, danced in and walked in throughout the decades and they are back with vengeance this season. This classic can be worn with anything and everything - jeans to dresses, tunics to shorts and are a wardrobe essential this winter. Whether its metallic, glitter, studded or suede that takes your fancy, there's a style out there for you all.

Numero Uno..."Shoes to be put on display..."

Paloma Satin Platform Pumps at (£590)
I have 3 favourite shoe designers, one of which is Charlotte Olympia. Charlotte Olympia is the brainchild of Charlotte Dellal, daughter of 80s model and muse, Andrea Dellal, and older sister to model, Alice Dellal. Since starting her company in 2007, her shoes have been a hit and a half, being stocked exclusively at Dover Street Market, Harvey Nichols, Browns and Net-a-Porter, all by her 2nd season, they have now become a member of the Choo and Manolo elite, with a large celebrity following. Coming in at an average of £600 a pair, they are not exactly a seasonal buy, but defined by the "mega platform", as well as the gold spider web on the sole, they are a keeper for the long-haul. One day a pair will be mine....
"They're not your average going-out shoes. They're shoes you can put on display" Dellal
Charlotte Olympia's first store has just opened on 56 Maddox Street, London

Loafers, Loafers, Loafers

Leopard Mocassins, Zara (£39.99)
Dark Red Patent Loafer- H! by Henry Holland for Debenhams (£25)

'Lush' Loafer, Miss KG by Kurt Geiger Loafers (£65)

Although they are something my mother used to swear by (and still does) her Bally loafers are something I used to almost cringe at when I saw, however, with the re-invented styles and looks, they have grown on me somewhat. Whether it's metallic, leopard print, patent, tassle or just plain leather you are after, this season the shops are full to bursting with - dare I say it - gorgeous loafers. They are comfortable, practical and A / W 10's ultimate answer to the ballet pump... a sure investment.

Above are a few of my favourite season picks!

Beauty Pumps

Louis Vuitton Beauty Pump in Velvet and Satin- Autumn/ Winter 2010
Louis Vuitton Beauty Pump in Crocodile- Spring/ Summer 2011

Zara Wide- Heeled Pointy Toe Court Shoe- Autumn/ Winter 2010

Debuting in Paris for the Autumn/ Winter 2010 catwalk show in March, and back again earlier this month for Spring/ Summer 2011 runway show, these Louis Vuitton Beauty Pumps are incredible. The distinctive silhouette- a chunky heel, pointy toe combo with a big bow on the front are a winner, although coming in at between $815- $9450 (dependant on the desired material- ostrich, calf leather, crocodile, satin and velvet) they are not particularly affordable! However, thanks to Zara, you can buy a very similar pair for only 79.99Euros. Although missing the bow, they are great for this party season as well as a good investment for the future. In stores and online now.

AH Sneaky Peak

Vivien in Metallic Python with Shagreen, Spring/Summer 2011 Collection, Anya Hindmarch

Although Anya Hindmarch is most famously known for her handbags, every season she designs a small line of jackets, kaftans and shoes to go with each collection. Stepping ahead into Spring/ Summer 2011- this pair was one that really caught my eye. The Vivien's are made from gold python skin and turquoise shagreen (stingray) allowing them to be distinctive and unique. They really are so beautiful and versatile- as could be worn to a black tie event, as well as with a pair of jeans for evening drinks with friends. I can't wait to see them in the shops!

I'd also like to thank the AH ladies for letting me take photos and help out during Paris Fashion Week- I loved it.

Alexander McQueen Multicolour-Crystal Gold Angel Wing Shoe

I thought that my first entry should be a tribute to Alexander McQueen and the most amazing pair of shoes I have ever seen- the Multicolour- Crystal Gold Angel Wing Shoe. These are one of four pairs of shoes he designed before his death earlier this year, and although he never saw them make the catwalk, they were exhibited in a private showing. Inspired by the dark ages, the detailing, the embellishment and gilding really honour them as a work of art- truly magnificent.
