Ice Cream Sundae

Mulberry SS12 Campaign

SOOOO much love for this SS12 Mulberry Campaign and just wanted to share it. I love the giant pieces of rock and ice cream cones with the candy stripes. These ice cream sundae pastel shades just encapsulate the colour trend coming in this season.

It's the last real weekend of most of the sales... therefore new season's stock will be hitting the shops hard over the coming days. More on this trend later in the season, but for now here's a little taster.

Just been browsing the New Look website through their shoe section, and whilst I was slightly interested to see some of their shoes at over the £50 mark (most are around the £20 - 30 mark), I then came across the following.. at a casual £200!!!! WHATTTT ?! I am currently debating buying a pair of Miu Miu courts for under that price... Miu Miu.. not NEW LOOK... can't quite believe it. They are crystalised, sure, but at that price I would at least expect Swarovski crystals. All seems a bit mad to me... if I had £150 odd knocking around there is veryyy little chance I would go and spend it in New Look.... each to their own, but I have to say I will be very interested to see how the sales for the following go...

Kandee After8 Platforms £198.88

TOO EXPENSIVE. At that price I would expect Swarovski.

Kandee Caramel Kiss Platforms £159.99

I'm not sure these would be nice even if they had a £0.99 sticker attached to them... Harsh but true.

Kandee Liquorice Black Suede Platforms £129.99

Not a bad style (perhaps copying Charlotte Olympia's island platform) but for £130... I'm not sold.

I don't usually rinse things on my blog, but I have been completely shocked that New Look have bought this selection of shoes which are obscenely expensive in relation to their average customer's spending. The words Shock Horror came to mind.... I honestly don't know how these will do, I have an inkling that there will be some mad customers willing to spend this amount... but I personally, wouldn't.

My Faves of the Sales

Despite the amazing feeling when you find a complete bargain, sale shopping is something I have come to really hate. So I have taken to online shopping- takes out the stress, there are so many more sizes available and it is far too easy- websites remember your details, so one click to the basket, one click to the 'whack it on my overdraft now,' 'pay now' and it's done. Awesome. So whilst I was mincing around online this evening, I looked for my faves of the Jan '12 sales so far.

Paco Banana Suede Heels - Topshop - £45 from £90 Click here

Absolutely love these- saw them a couple of months ago at full price but thought for a pair of Topshop shoes they were a little overpriced. The 'banana heel' has filtered down into the high streets from Miu Miu and has been as massive trend this season- definitely a great one if you want to feel bang on trend and add a quirky edge to a classic. Pocketing them in Burgundy.

Momentum - Kurt Geiger - £59 from £180 Click here

Amazing bargain, beautifully crafted in Italy and a fraction of the original price. LOVE the snakeskin and Dalmatian print options as well as the black or cobalt suede. Wear everyday with skinny jeans, dresses, skirts, to work or out in the evenings, so versatile.

Loot Lace Up Brown Brogue - Office - £24 from £62 Click here

Massive fan of leopard print and brogues - and LOVE the combination of the brown leather and the leopard. Russell and Bromely are doing a pair almost identical to these but at 10 times the price, so if you're looking for a nice little pair of smart flats, i would definitely invest in these. Wish i had seen them before they sold out in my size!

Suedette Platform Court - New Look - £7 from £20 Click here

Not real leather but at £7, who cares?! In case you need further persuading, burgundy was massive for AW'10 / '11, they are a real classic in terms of style and will last you for the next few months as well as into Summer with a pretty dress, tailored trousers, skinny jeans, shorts.. the list is endless.

Fringed Boots - Zara - £59.99 from £120 Click here

Completely fell in love with these when I first saw them- partly as they have been inspired by the Isabel Marrant fringed ones which I have been pinning over since seeing them on the catwalk, but with a cool £995 price tag attached, pinning is about as far as I will get. I do love these though and at half price in the sale, it ain't too bad at all.

New Year's Resolution:

I will back back... very shortly. Sorry about lack of posts recently!
